Eating leftover pizza
is an act of faith,
really.
You have to have
a lot of imagination
to believe
that that
triangle-shaped paperweight
will become
an actual edible thing again
after only
a few seconds
in the microwave.
The crust
is like a sponge
that has spent
too much time
out of water.
Cheese,
once melted,
should never have to
solidify again.
And luckily,
we can't even
see the sauce.
But we know
that it's hiding under there
in strange clumps.
Sometimes,
for leftover pizza,
even faith
isn't enough.
